Light: Where Shadows Meet Glow
One of the many gifts of Aglaonema is its adaptability. It doesn’t need the spotlight to thrive. Gentle indirect light is all it needs. Your First Diamond or Silver Bay will shimmer beautifully in a softly lit corner, while your Pink Princess or Pink Pearl might appreciate a touch more brightness to keep her color vivid. Avoid harsh sunbeams; this is a plant that prefers the calm of dappled light over the intensity of midday heat.
Water: The Ritual of Balance
Aglaonema care is about rhythm, not routine. Let the top inch of soil dry before offering water. Too much moisture can overwhelm it. Use a pot with good drainage and, if you can, filtered or rainwater for an extra touch of tropical care.
Temperature & Humidity: Warm, Never Harsh
Native to the lush understories of Asia, Aglaonema thrive in warmth. Keep them in temperatures between 60 and 85°F, and away from drafts or AC vents. Choose a light, airy mix that drains well, such as a blend of peat, perlite, and coco coir is ideal. During the spring and summer, a diluted, balanced fertilizer once a month will keep your Aglaonema growing strong and full. In fall and winter, let it rest; even the most radiant plants need a season of stillness.
Pruning & Propagation: Renewal in Motion
Trim yellowing leaves to refresh its shape and energy. You can easily propagate aglaonema by cutting a healthy stem and rooting it in water or soil. They love to multiply!
