The new leaves of this Zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as the ZZ Raven plant, or Black Queen, start out bright green and gradually turn a deep blackish purple. ZZ Raven stores water in its thick, succulent roots, allowing it to thrive in seasonally dry tropical and subtropical climates. This low-maintenance, low-light houseplant is popular with new plant parents and houseplant collectors alike. *ZZ Raven comes in a nursery pot.

Origin: The ZZ plant originates from Eastern Africa, specifically from the dry grasslands found from Kenya to South Africa.

Plant Care

Light: Zamioculcas zamiifolia Raven is one of the easiest plants to care for. It can survive in very low-light conditions such as offices or bathrooms, although all houseplants need some light.

Water & Soil: Water when the top one to two inches of the soil are dry during the spring and summer months, and less frequently in the cooler months. ZZ Raven is drough-tolerant and can withstand some periods of drought. Use a well-draining houseplant potting soil mix.
