Adenium obesum, or Desert Rose, is a beautiful drought-tolerant, flowering plant. The Desert Rose plant can reach up to six or eight feet tall, and produces delightful trumpet shaped pink, white or rose-colored flowers. The indoor-outdoor plant is loved for its unique, bonsai-like appearance.

Origin: The Obesum Desert Rose originated in the arid, sub-Saharan regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

Plant Care

Light: To care for the Adenium Obesum Desert Rose, provide it with plenty of direct sunlight. Six to eight hours of bright light each day will encourage the plant to bloom. Move it to a partially shaded area if the leaves become yellow or scorched from too much sun.

Water: The Desert Rose is a drought-tolerant plant and needs very little water during the cooler seasons. Water sparingly in the spring and summer months.

Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. Allow the soil to completely dry out between watering.
