The Alocasia reticula, commonly known as Alocasia Black Velvet, earns its royal name with dark, velvety leaves highlighted by striking silver-white veins. Compact yet dramatic, it adds a touch of luxury to any indoor jungle and thrives as a statement piece in decorative pots.

Origin: Alocasia Black Velvet is native to the tropical rainforests of Borneo. Borneo is a large island located in Southeast Asia, specifically within the Malay Archipelago. 

 

Plant Care

Light: Alocasia Black Velvet requires medium to bright, indirect light. They are very sensitive to the cold.

Soil: Alocasia prefer an aroid soil mix that allows the plant to stay evenly moist without becoming soggy. 

Water: Water thoroughly when the top half to three-quarters of the soil is dry to prevent root rot. Alocasia do best in high humidity environments and warm temperatures. They enjoy regular misting.
